personal// boulder bay, big bear.

A conversation with my good photo-friend Job earlier this week: “Hey let’s go up to Big Bear and shoot sunrise at the lake.” “Sweet. I’m down.”

Note the distinct lack of planning in the above conversation. After leaving La Habra around 3 am, we arrived at the lake around 4:30 and discovered that things can get a bit nippy during that specific time of day (or rather, night). After three solid hours in 15 degree weather at Boulder Bay, we called it good and booked it to the nearest Denny’s.

Happy Saturday.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Or rather, unValentine’s Day for those of us without dates! So why not have a little photoshoot in the Fullerton Forest (aka Hiltscher Park)? You might remember Victoria from this studio shoot, and Melissa is a fresh face on this blog. Enjoy, and give someone a hug!

Happy ’12 everyone.

What’s that? Wondering what could make your stunningly swell Christmas even better? Why, the visual gift of good-looking people of course!

Melody and Ben are two of the awesomest people I know. If you’ve noticed a certain uptick in the quality of my work this year, it’s because I’ve been trying to get better and better, in hopes that when these two got engaged, they would ask me to snap some photos at their wedding. Needless to say, my evil plan worked.

We decided to start the session off with a frolic! Big mistake. Things started off nicely…

And then not so much…

After that, we stuck to walking.

Melody, I know you wanted the sign out of the photo, but I think it actually fits in rather nicely:

Merry Christmas!
